What can you bring to the recycling center? Recyclable Items you can drop-off:
Paper
Keep the following types of paper separate because they are recycled into various products using different processes.
- Corrugated cardboard, flattened and paper bags*
- Cereal and boxboard, flattened*
- Office paper and mail, keep shredded paper
- Magazines and catalogs, glossy*
- Newspapers and what comes in them*
- Phone books*
Plastic
- #1 bottles, clear or translucent*
- #2 bottles, must have seam across bottom, keep milk jugs separate*
- Plastic bags, all types accepted, including shrink wrap
- Vinyl siding
- Polystyrene foam, must be broken up and bagged
- Loop carriers
Metal
- Steel cans, including aerosol*
- Aluminum, all sizes and types accepted*
Glass
- Clear and lightly tinted green container glass*
Miscellaneous Items
- NI-CAD and rechargeable batteries, auto and marine
- Ink jet cartridges
- Returnable cans and bottles
Remember . . . All items must be clean, rinsed out, with lids removed.
*Starred items can also be recycled in your curbside bin.

Reusable Items you can drop-off or purchase
- Moving boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, foam sheeting and packing p-nuts
- Glass or plastic vases and canning jars
- Craft materials such as: anchovy cans, film canisters, paper egg cartons, three ring binders and decorative tins
Why does MVFR’s recycling center take more materials than the curbside program?
MVFR is a non-profit organization dedicated to recycling all materials possible, even those that are marginally profitable (such as the non-starred items). MVFR offers volunteer opportunities and free educational programs to people of all ages and abilities.
